José Ramírez guitar built in 1967
José Ramírez I began his training in Francisco González’s workshop in 1870. He became independent and opened his own workshop in 1882. Since then, Casa Ramírez began a tradition that has been passed down from father to son until reaching the current 4th and 5th generations. .
José Ramírez’s workshop soon became a key gear for the Madrid Guitar School, thanks to the improvements he applied to the instrument and the training of professionals who worked in his workshop.
Today it is considered one of the most important Spanish guitar-building artisan companies in the world and the oldest house by direct line (from father to son).
