8-strings Antonio Marín-Montero 1992 ENGLISH

Particularly beautiful wood means excellent timbres and large volume – the instrument is aesthetically and tonally perfect.

This 8-string rarity is predestined for baroque pieces that require deeper basses than the standard guitar, as well as ideal for the modern South American guitar repertoire.

No. 622, September 1992, length 650 mm, saddle 68 mm, mechanics: Fustero

unscratched, unused, like new.

Description: easy playability, velvety bass and silver treble colors thanks to the Bouchet construction.

Special feature: old Alpine spruce top, approx. 100 years old, the very best flamed maple on the sides and back, approx. 60 years old.

Completely evenly veined cedar on the neck, first-class ebony fingerboard.

The small impact protection (golpeador = pickguard) from the first string to the lower edge of the bridge allows guitarist excursions into flamenco. When the 8th string is removed, the entire repertoire of 7-string Brazilian guitar music opens up too.

The world famous constructor Antonio Marín Montero was born in Granada in 1933. In 1957 he joined Master Pérez’s workshop and two years later, in 1959, his father advised him to visit Eduardo Ferrer, for whom he worked until he opened his own workshop. Today Antonio Marin Montero is one of the most popular guitar makers in Granada.
This guitar is like brand new and, as always with the guitars by Antonio Marin Montero, a fantastic concert instrument according to Spanish tradition. It has remarkable balance and a wide range of timbres. The deep, round basses combine perfectly with the highs rich in overtones and the sound has great charm and openness. Overall, it’s a very special guitar that will please the ears and heart of its lucky owner and audience.
