Guitarra Hijos de González Ciprés Madrid 1912-1927
̈Francisco González, was a 19th century guitar builder whose instruments are known to come from his hands are of unsuspected value. The quality of the voices and careful and correct construction, not only do not detract but surpass the best of A. Torres and E. García. ̈ Domingo Prat.
After the death of Francisco González, his children continued his legacy in the workshop on Carreras 33 street, obtaining the 1st class medal at the Paris exhibition of 1867 and some other prizes, as the label says.
This guitar built between 1912-1927 is even smaller since it is built under the template of Don Francisco Gonzalez guitars.
This guitar has a very narrow body and a short 58 cm throw, but it also obtains a powerful and opaque sound. Built with details that demarcate its age, you can see the head built with the particular design of the sons of Gonzales, it has the headstock made with ebony wood sticks. An apparently simple soundhole is observed in details a little wider than normal with a rosewood and ebony purfling that matches the red coral of the fingerboard.
