Vincent Humml 2015 “Grosse Torres”

Excellent  guitar by the German luthier Vincent Humml.
Solid spruce top (French polished), solid rosewood back and sides, ebony fretboard.
The fretboard is very slightly convex for easier playing.
Standard dimensions (650/52).
12 bridge holes for better vibration transmission.
Modified Torres bracing.

Explanations from the luthier (in my approximate English translation):
“The guitar top is equipped with 7 braces, it has the special feature that the 1st brace has been enlarged. This improves the bass radiation. The beam under the sound hole has tunnels so that the outer compartments can pass through. The ceiling and floor are finished. In the center there is more mass, in interaction with consoles on the sides and veneered bezels, the instrument has a very large volume.
The fingerboard is elevated in the area of ​​the ceiling (elevated fretboard). This improves playing in the high registers and especially the sustain. The guitar has many improvements over “traditionally” built instruments, predetermined breaking points have been avoided where possible. A locked top and bottom block as well as a carbon rod in the neck are some of them.”

The price of the equivalent new instrument would be 3500 euros.

The guitar is loud, with profound basses and velvety trebles. The instrument is very balanced (the basses although loud are not overpowering) and has a great voice separation across the length of the fretboard.
The instrument presents slight traces of play but is in a general very good condition.
A rigid guitar case is included.
