1800-10s London-made guitar attributed to Longman, labelled by the dealer Monzani. Pre- Panormo

A 1800-10s London-made guitar attributed to Longman, but labelled by the dealer Monzani. These guitars were the very first guitars made in London. I have a whole chapter on them in my new book: ‘Guitar making in 19th century London’.  maple back and sides, red painted purfling (as Longman, Preston etc did on their English guittars). I made the bridge; the previous owner was ill advised to change the original bridge to one with 8 strings, set in five-courses. An image of the Countess of Roden is attached with her 8-pegged guitar with 6-strings, as is a drawing of one from a British encyclopaedia from 1811. The guitar was used as a part of a recording project and I have the recording (as for it), but it was equipped with nylon strings (personally, I’d put gut strings on it).  [String length: 580mm Nut width: 49mm; String height at 12^th fret: 6^th string 3.0mm; 1^st string 2.5mm]. No case, but I’ll find a basic one for shipping. Buyer collects, or pays the shipping. The price is set, sorry no offers. But the price of these guitars will increase once people have my new book.  This was the sort of guitar Sor first came across in Briton, before Panormo started making.
